presented by Dr. Elizabeth Fildes. 

Dr. Fildes established the only statewide nicotine dependence treatment program ,which treats all forms of tobacco dependence. Today, Nevada’s adult smoking rate has been reduced to 22 percent, due in part to her efforts.

Dr. Fildes was the first to use professional addiction counselors and incorporate spirituality into telephone-based counseling for nicotine dependence. The Nevada Tobacco Users Helpline has played a role in helping more than 33,000 Nevadans with their tobacco dependency.

This course is designated for 2 clinical, 0.5 non-clinical CEUs.

"How to Manage the Diabetic Patient:  From Oral Implications to Medical Emergencies"
presented by Heather Rogers, BSDH & Cathy Lytle, BSDH

Rogers & Lytle will discuss all the implications involved with this ever increasing condition and what we can do as practitioners to help treat clients safely and effectively.  The course will cover the definition, signs and symptoms, drugs for treatment, physical and oral implications and medical emergencies.  A step-by-step protocol will be provided for managing the diabetic's appointment from blood sugar to current health and diet.  They also add a personal touch when speaking about how diabetes can impact friends and family of the patient.

This course is designated for 2 clinical, 0.5 non-clinical CEUs.

  • Concentrate on safe implementation of inexpensive practices to protect you, personnel, and your patients

Online ADHA Sponsored courses

Welcome! Each of the following continuing education courses provides either 1 or 2 CE hours. The fee for each course is $15 (ADHA members) or $30 (non-members), with the exception of course noted below which are provided at no charge.
